As we enter a new year, Innovenn is looking ahead to our second decade, and excited about the innovations and future paths of health advancement. The next ten years hold tremendous potential to revolutionize the life sciences industry, and we are committed to driving achievements that redefine health and wellness for individuals worldwide.

Precision medicine aligns deeply with Innovenn’s values, as we believe that every solution should start with understanding the unique needs of individuals—patients, caregivers, and the ecosystem of healthcare providers alike. Moreover, we should strive to design health innovations to be accessible to all, so that no one is left behind in the journey toward better health.

Over the past 10 years, we have seen precision health evolve from a reactive, one-size-fits-all approach to a proactive, data-driven, and highly personalized model, where treatment and prevention strategies are tailored to an individual’s unique lifestyle, genetic makeup, and environment.

People today have access to tools and insights that enable them to be more involved in managing their health. Some examples include:

Wearable and Health Sensors

A decade ago, health sensors were mostly limited to fitness trackers. But today, they have evolved into complex devices that can monitor heart variability, blood oxygen levels, and blood glucose levels without any invasiveness. By building on today’s capabilities, the wearables of tomorrow will offer even more precise, non-invasive monitoring for a wider range of health metrics, enabling early intervention and seamless management of chronic conditions.

Patient-Driven Health Data and Analytics

With more access to personal health data and analytics than before, patients have shifted from reactive care to preventative care, where they actively manage their health risks. There are now many health apps that guide users through preventative health care like diet, exercise, sleep, and are often customized to individual health metrics. We believe the future holds an even more robust ecosystem of health apps and analytics tools, which will help individuals predict, prevent, and personalize their health journeys with even more accuracy, convenience, and personalization.

Increased focus on mental health and holistic wellness

Precision health has evolved beyond physical health and has placed a recent emphasis to include mental health as well. Wearables can track stress levels, and health apps incorporate mindfulness and mental health management. We look forward to supporting advancements in personalized care and real-time stress monitoring, where technology will seamlessly integrate mental health metrics with physical health data to enable proactive and comprehensive care solutions. These developments promise a future where mental and physical wellness are equally prioritized, fostering a truly balanced approach to health.

Introduction of Digital Therapeutics

Over the past decade, significant progress has been made in advancing impactful digital therapeutics. These solutions enable patients to access their treatment plans conveniently through smartphone applications, putting personalized care directly at their fingertips. Our team was excited to work on a novel prescription digital therapeutic that was recently cleared by the FDA in the summer of 2024. As the industry continues to make advancements in digital health, patients will have even greater access to personalized treatment plans through their devices, making care even more intuitive and effective.

Treatments for Rare Diseases

Precision health has transformed the diagnosis, treatment, and overall management of rare diseases. Once a field with limited options and considerable challenges, there has been an upward trajectory in the percentage of drugs approved to treat rare conditions or diseases. In 2022, more than half of the FDA’s novel drug approvals were for patients with rare diseases1. As we look to the future, precision health will further unlock solutions for rare diseases with new therapies, faster diagnoses, and more targeted treatments becoming the norm.

Innovenn’s Impact

The advancements made over the past decade exemplify the power of science and innovation in improving lives, where we have been humbled to have participated and played an impact in the industry. But as a catalyst for innovation, we are always looking ahead. Innovenn is ready to tackle the challenges and new opportunities of this new era, where we will continue to support the advancement of precision medicine. Over the next decade, we are committed to:

  • Assist with the validation of wearable biosensors, Digital Therapeutics (DTx), Clinical Decision Support Software (CDSS), Software as a Medical Device (SaMD) and other Digital Health Technologies.
  • Generate data driven insights and solutions from large and complex datasets. By leveraging clinical, lab, radiomic, genomic, proteomic, metabolomic data, etc., we design and develop outcomes focused solutions leveraging health data and analytics.
  • Manage development workstreams to assist with attainment of global regulatory approval and enable product adoption for novel health and wellness innovations.
  • Integrate user-centered design at every step of the patient process – from diagnosis, progression, and treatment, through prediction and monitoring.

By helping expand novel ways to deliver diagnostic, prognostic, and other health monitoring tools, we work towards a future where every patient feels empowered, engaged, equipped, and enabled to take care of their health and wellness.

Looking Ahead

As we look to the future, the promise of precision medicine lies in its potential to make healthcare truly personal, so every patient receives the right care at the right time.

Our commitment is to improve people’s health and make a difference together. We are dedicated to creating lasting value for our clients and the patients that we serve, driving meaningful change in our industry, and contributing positively to society.
